In the hours leading up to one of the must see festivals of the year, a foreigner on the point of being submerged deeply into a traditional celebration which contrasts those of back home, I was not sure what to expect. Growing up surrounded by a continual battle of the animal rights activists and their successful campaign which put a long awaited end to fox hunting in the UK, mixed thoughts really do arise as one dives happily into the heart of traditional Spanish culture of which such celebrations are clearly ostracized in the UK and most English speaking countries. The power of information

The need to know and expand self awareness started from the early days of our lives in this strangely complex universe. Curiosity and fascination towards the unknown has led us to incredible achievements and discoveries both constructive and destructive. We not only have increased our knowledge, but also shared information through different means either verbal or documental. From Sumerian merchants in 5000 BC, who recorded trading information on clay tablets, to the museums of the great Imperial hierarchies of China and Egypt, or the Great Library of Alexandria, which legend claims, was started with Aristotle’s own collection, Papyrus scripts, we have managed our collective intellectual capital. Later in 1000 AD the Cairo House of Wisdom deployed the open source of spreading the accumulated knowledge by allowing reading and copying of books without the distinction of rank. From the beginning of time lovers have left their marks behind on the pages of history and in our hearts. Even though, many great lovers died for their love, it did not stop further generations to walk along the same path and sacrifice themselves in the name of love whether for their countries or beloved ones. They all knew that one thing that can never be taken from us is the love we hold deep in our hearts, more powerful than any force in the universe. Youngsters with identity crisis

Since the beginning human race started to live in groups and belong to one or another tribe, for the one and only reason of safety in numbers. The struggle against the nature and its predators has always been a challenge, so to adapt ways to intimidate such predators started in the forms of tattoos, paints and clothes.
