Viva la Fourth of July!

The courage it takes to protect freedom. It took the individuals that signed the Declaration a great deal of courage to do so as they could have been hung for treason. People of the US use this symbol as a means to remind them that courage is often needed in times when freedoms are threatened. As John Adams, one of the founding fathers of the United States, wrote to his wife on third of July 1776, “The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.” It marked fourth of July as one of the most important celebrations for the people of the United States. Today Americans celebrate this day for a number of reasons. They talk about how the United States of America was born and how many had died for that to happen. They celebrate the fact that Americans, as a nation, want all people to be free. And, they realize that without the courage and bravery of all those that came before them, they would not have had the freedom that now even people from other countries hold as a example. The right to live with the freedoms of religion, without persecution and with the ability to think and do for yourself. And to stand up for your personal beliefs as well as respecting others as equals are lessons many learned from those brave souls who through sacrifice made possible for generations to come. As one side of the world is celebrating the values of democracy and independence other side of the world, in Iran, many people on the streets of Tehran are fighting for their voices to be heard and their democracy not to be compromised. The power of freedom and its miracle has always had an everlasting effect on human beings throughout history. Every person and every nation are born free and will always fight for their freedom of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness as their utter birth right. The struggle to achieve freedom and work for a better future exists in our souls, runs through our veins as our bloods and if needed human beings instinctively are prepared to spill their blood fighting any oppression for the greater good. So when liberties are experienced or understood in different ways through difference in cultures and beliefs, we must all remember to respect and not oppress others just because we do not understand their way of celebrating and exercising freedom. Lets all take a moment to remember our common cause and celebrate this day with our friends overseas. Happy Independence Day to all our friends from the United States and wish you many prosperous years to come.
