If tomorrow never comes

23 07 2009

December 21st, 2012 day break doesn’t come. All remains dark. The world has come to an end. Many ancient cultures from across the globe describe startling events that seem to be taking place now. Are they pointing to 2012? Newly discovered drawings, that many believe are from the famed prophet Nostradamus, might hold the coded clues about what will happen in 2012. This is the year, so called Doomsday, that occurrence of many cataclysmic and apocalyptic events all around the world are predicted. According to ancient Mayans 21st, December 2012 marks the ending of the current baktun cycle of the Mesoamerican Long Count Calendar. Some suggest that Armageddon would overtake the degenerate people of the world and all creation on the final day of the thirteenth baktun. Thus our present universe would be annihilated on December 21st, 2012, when the Great Cycle of the Long Count reaches completion.

Although, more recent academic scholars of Mayan Civilization have disputed the apocalyptic interpretation of the Long Count calendar end-date, insisting that it simply marks a resetting of the calendar and beginning of another cycle as it has done 4 times prior to the coming end cycle.

Life on Earth has faced extinction at least five times before, so it is a possibility that another catastrophic disaster is on its way. From the earth’s prospective, Sun will align with the centre of the Milky way Galaxy in an incredibly rare astronomical phenomenon every 26000 years. According to Lawrence Joseph, author of Apocalypse 2012, half of the 26000 year cycle coincides with the last Ice Age and the Global Warming was the melting of the Ice Age. Because the Earth is rotating, our view of the stars changes over time, the galactic alignment in simplest terms is when the Sun appears in direct line with the centre of the Galaxy. Many ancient cultures believed, this alignment seems to signify a time of traumatic change. Nostradamus in his Quatrain 1:55 says; There will be a great shedding of blood. Heaven will appear unjust. Both on land and sea and in the air Cults, famine, kingdoms, plagues, confusion.

Our planet is faced with crisis of alarming complexity, oil shortages, vanishing species, deadly tsunamis, economic chaos and nuclear threats. It all can not be coincidental and they all will surely lead to a bigger and more ominous result. So, how many of such predictions can we observe coming true in front of our eyes in 2009?

Lets consider another look on all this and say nothing will happen. Global Warming is a myth, Tsunami never happened, there is no famine in Africa, planet X called Nibiru is unknown and not even one asteroid is coming to destroy this civilization. No comets, no earthquakes, no pole shifting and so on. With the kind of love and harmony that people of the world live together, no wars ever happened or will happen. Considering all stated above, we can not deny the fact that this world is made of matter and like us it will end its life cycle and die, eventually. If today is the last day that I live then I shall live to the fullest, love everybody and everything around me, try my best to seize the moment. Because the ancient proverb thought us that; “The clock is running. Make the most of today. Time awaits for no man. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That’s why it is called the present.”
